1. Overview

Cryptogram Quotes (“the game”) is a free Android word game published by Stronghealth. There is no account, no sign-up and no server of ours. Apart from loading ads, the game sends nothing off your device.

2. Everything runs on your phone

The whole quote library ships inside the app. Puzzles are generated on your device from that library, so nothing is downloaded while you play and the daily puzzle needs no connection.

Your progress — which puzzles you have solved, your streak, your times, your settings, and any puzzle you left half finished — is stored only in the game’s local storage on this device. We do not operate a server that could receive it. The game works fully in airplane mode. Deleting the game removes that storage along with your progress.

3. Information we collect

The game does not collect, store or transmit personal information. We do not operate a server or database holding user data.

4. Third-party services and ads

The game uses one third-party service.

• Google AdMob — used to show ads. No ad is ever shown on the puzzle screen while you are solving. A full screen ad can only appear after a puzzle is finished, the first few solves are untouched, and there is a minimum gap between them. There are no rewarded ads: hints are free and nothing in this game is sold behind an ad.
  For advertising the game declares the advertising ID permission (com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID). Google’s Mobile Ads SDK may collect the advertising identifier, IP address (from which an approximate location can be inferred), app interaction and diagnostic data in order to serve and measure ads. See Google’s Privacy Policy and How Google uses advertising data. You can reset or delete your advertising ID under Settings > Privacy > Ads on Android.
  If an ad fails to load, the game simply carries on.

No analytics, crash reporting or push services are used.

5. Permissions

The game requests no permissions that need your consent. It does not ask for photos, files, storage, the camera, the microphone, location, contacts or notifications. The remaining manifest entries are normal permissions granted without a prompt (internet and network state for ads, the advertising ID, and vibration for haptics).

6. The quotes

Every quote in the game is in the public domain, and every one was checked against the original text it comes from before it shipped. The author, the work and the year are shown on the solved screen, and the full list of source editions is in the app under Sources.

If you believe a quote is attributed incorrectly, there is a report button on the solved screen — it opens your email app so you can tell us, and we will check it against the source.

7. Children’s privacy

The game is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

This policy may change. Any change will be posted on this page with a new date.
