1. Overview
Dialect Dictionary & Converter ("the App") is a free Android app developed by 강건한건강 ("we", "us") that explains selected Korean dialect phrases, applies regional speech patterns to standard Korean, and provides a searchable dictionary. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the App.
2. Information We Collect
The App has no user accounts and does not automatically send the original phrases, selected focus text, converted result, or personal-dictionary entries to our servers. Phrase explanations and conversions run on the device. Personal-dictionary entries are stored locally using Android app storage and may be included in Android backup as described in Section 6. Limited analytics events, advertising data, and optional feedback content are handled separately below.
3. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services:
- Google AdMob — for displaying advertisements. The App shows a banner, a full-screen ad at natural breaks, and an app-open ad on launch. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as Advertising ID) and usage data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads. For more information, see the Google Privacy Policy.
- Google Firebase Analytics — for limited product-quality measurements such as whether a dialect explanation found a supported focus, a helpful/not-helpful choice, and whether a feedback form could be opened. These events use fixed categories and counts. They do not include the original phrase, selected focus text, result sentence, email address, free-form note, or personal-dictionary entry. - Tally — hosts our optional feedback forms. Opening a form sends the app identifier, display name, version, platform, UI language and entry point to Tally. Feedback text, selected feedback type and an optional reply email are stored when you submit. See the Tally Privacy Notice.
4. Optional Feedback and External Links
Feedback opens a Tally form in your browser. You choose whether to submit feedback and whether to leave an email address for a reply. We use submitted information to investigate issues, improve the App and respond. Original phrases and personal-dictionary entries are not placed in the form URL or sent automatically; you may copy selected content into the form yourself. Please remove sensitive information before submitting. Source and privacy links are subject to the destination's own privacy practices.
Feedback is stored by Tally separately from local app data. Uninstalling the App does not delete submitted feedback. Contact [email protected] to request deletion and provide enough information to locate your submission; an anonymous submission may be difficult to identify. We retain feedback only as needed to address it and meet applicable obligations.
5. Permissions
The App requests internet access for advertisements and analytics. The App does not use or request access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, or shared files.
6. Data Storage
The App does not create user accounts or provide its own cloud sync. Personal-dictionary entries are stored in local app storage. Android backup is enabled, so a copy of local app data may also exist in your Google account. Uninstalling can remove the local copy but does not necessarily delete a backup, and reinstalling may restore it. You can review or delete Android backups in your Google account settings.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is suitable for general audiences and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly ask children to submit personal information through the App.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
