1. Overview
Gig Chord Book ("the App") is a free Android app published by 강건한건강 ("we", "us"). It holds your own chord charts and setlists so you can read them on stage, with transpose, capo and auto-scroll. There is no account, no sign-up, and no cloud. Apart from loading advertisements, the App does not send anything anywhere.
2. Your songs
Your charts never leave your device. Every song, setlist, key, capo and auto-scroll setting is stored in the App's own private storage on your phone. We operate no server that could receive them, and we cannot see what you have saved.
- The App requests no photo, storage, camera, microphone or location permissions. Importing and exporting go through Android's own file picker (the Storage Access Framework), which hands over only the file or folder you choose. The App has no ability to browse the rest of your storage.
- Exporting a backup writes a JSON file containing your songs and setlists, then hands it to whichever app you pick from the share sheet. Where it goes from there is up to you.
- Uninstalling the App deletes its storage, including every chart you added. Android backup is left enabled for this App, so a copy of that data may also exist in your Google account. Uninstalling does not delete that copy, and installing the App again can restore it. You can review or delete it in the backup settings of your Google account. Export a backup first if you want to keep them.
3. Information we collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. We operate no server or database holding user data.
4. Third-party services and advertising
The App uses one third-party service:
- Google AdMob — for advertising. The App shows a banner on the library and setlist screens, an app-open ad on a cold start, and at most one full-screen ad every 90 seconds when you close a chart and return to your library. There are no ads on the performance screen, where a chart is open.
For advertising, the App declares the Advertising ID (com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID) permission, and AdMob may collect the advertising identifier along with device and usage data to serve and measure ads. The App always requests non-personalized ads, and it never passes your songs or anything about them to the ad request. See the Google Privacy Policy and Google's advertising data notice. You can reset or delete your advertising ID under Settings > Privacy > Ads on Android.
We use no analytics, no crash reporting, and no push service.
5. Permissions
Gig Chord Book requests no runtime permissions — not photos, files or storage, not camera, microphone, location or contacts. The only entries in its manifest are normal permissions granted without a prompt: internet access and network state for ads, the advertising ID, and keeping the screen awake while a chart is open.
6. Song content
The App ships no copyrighted song content and does not search for or download any. The three example charts included on first run are traditional songs in the public domain. Everything else in your library is material you added yourself, and you are responsible for having the right to hold it.
7. Children's privacy
The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
