Dough Lab — Pizza Dough Calculator (com.pando.pizzadoughcalculator) — Last updated: 25 August 2026
1. Overview
Dough Lab (“the app”) is a free Android calculator for pizza dough, published by Stronghealth. There is no account, no sign-up and no server of ours. Apart from loading ads, the app sends nothing off your device.
2. Everything runs on your phone
The yeast chart ships inside the app. Every gram figure — flour, water, salt, and the yeast quantity for your fermentation schedule — is worked out on your own device. Nothing is fetched while you calculate, and the app opens and works with no connection at all.
Your saved recipes, your last formula, your unit preference and any running timer are stored only in the app’s local storage on this device. We do not operate a server that could receive any of it. Deleting the app removes it.
3. Information we collect
The app does not collect, store or transmit personal information. We do not operate a server or database holding user data.
4. Permissions
The app asks for no runtime permissions at all. There is no prompt to accept or refuse, because there is nothing it needs from you.
The fermentation timer is a countdown that reads your phone’s clock while the app is open. It schedules nothing and sends no notification, so it needs neither notification nor alarm permission.
The manifest entries the app does declare are normal permissions granted without a prompt: internet and network state for ads, the advertising ID, wake lock for video ad playback, and vibration for the optional haptic feedback. The app does not ask for photos, files, storage, the camera, the microphone, location, contacts or notifications.
5. Third-party services and ads
The app uses one third-party service.
- Google AdMob — used to show ads. There are three placements: a banner at the bottom of the screen; one full-screen ad when the app is opened cold, at most once a day and never on your first run; and a full-screen ad that can appear when you save a recipe — at most twice a day, never twice inside ten minutes, and never on the calendar day you install the app. No full-screen ad ever appears while you are working out a formula, and none while a fermentation timer is running or when it finishes. Nothing in the app is locked behind watching an ad, and there is no subscription or in-app purchase of any kind.
For advertising the app declares the advertising ID permission (com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID). Google’s Mobile Ads SDK may collect the advertising identifier, IP address (from which an approximate location can be inferred), app interaction and diagnostic data in order to serve and measure ads. See Google’s Privacy Policy and How Google uses advertising data. You can reset or delete your advertising ID under Settings > Privacy > Ads on Android.
If an ad fails to load, the app simply carries on. It is never a condition of opening the app or of seeing a result.
No analytics, crash reporting or push services are used.
6. Where the numbers come from
Yeast quantities are read from a published chart — TXCraig1’s baker’s yeast quantity prediction model on the PizzaMaking forum — rather than fitted to a formula. The chart is credited inside the app on its About screen, with a link to the post it came from. Neapolitan proportions follow the AVPN international regulation. Where a schedule falls outside the published chart, the app shows no yeast quantity rather than inventing one.
7. A starting point, not a guarantee
Quantities are a starting point. Flour, water, and a warm kitchen all move the result, and the author of the yeast model describes it as a place to begin rather than a guaranteed answer. Taste and time your own dough.
8. Children’s privacy
The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
