1. Overview

LogDeck (“the app”) is a free Android calculator for log scaling, published by Stronghealth. There is no account, no sign-up and no server of ours. Apart from loading ads, the app sends nothing off your device.

2. Everything runs on your phone

The scaling tables ship inside the app. The Scribner Decimal C and International ¼-inch tables and the Doyle rule are bundled with it, so every board-foot figure is produced on your own device. Nothing is fetched while you scale, and the app works with no signal at all — which is the point, because a log landing usually has none.

Your tally, your saved loads, your price per thousand board feet and your settings are stored only in the app’s local storage on this device. We do not operate a server that could receive any of it. Deleting the app removes it.

3. Information we collect

The app does not collect, store or transmit personal information. We do not operate a server or database holding user data.

4. Exporting a load sheet

Exporting writes a CSV or PDF into the app’s own temporary storage and hands it to Android’s share sheet. The app has no access to your files, storage or photo library and never asks for any. Where the sheet goes after that — email, a messaging app, cloud storage — is decided entirely by you and by whichever app you pick. We receive no copy of it.

5. Third-party services and ads

The app uses one third-party service.

• Google AdMob — used to show ads. There are three placements: a banner at the bottom of the screen; one full-screen ad when the app is opened cold, at most once a day and never on your first run; and a full-screen ad that can appear at the two points a load ends — closing a load out and exporting it — at most twice a day, never twice inside ten minutes, not until at least five logs are in the load, and never on the calendar day you install the app. No full-screen ad ever appears while you are scaling: entering a log and adding it to the tally carries no interstitial at any frequency. Nothing in the app is locked behind watching an ad, and there is no subscription or in-app purchase of any kind.
  For advertising the app declares the advertising ID permission (com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID). Google’s Mobile Ads SDK may collect the advertising identifier, IP address (from which an approximate location can be inferred), app interaction and diagnostic data in order to serve and measure ads. See Google’s Privacy Policy and How Google uses advertising data. You can reset or delete your advertising ID under Settings > Privacy > Ads on Android.
  If an ad fails to load, the app simply carries on.

No analytics, crash reporting or push services are used.

6. Permissions

The app asks for no runtime permissions at all. There is no prompt to accept or refuse, because there is nothing it needs from you.

The manifest entries it does declare are normal permissions granted without a prompt: internet and network state for ads, the advertising ID, and wake lock for video ad playback, plus vibration for the optional haptic feedback you can switch off. The app does not ask for photos, files, storage, the camera, the microphone, location, contacts or notifications.

7. Where the numbers come from

The Scribner Decimal C and International ¼-inch values are read from published log rule tables rather than approximated by a formula, and the sources are listed inside the app on its Sources screen. Where a diameter or length is outside every published table, the app says no table and leaves that log out of the total instead of inventing a figure.

8. Not a substitute for an official scale

The app is a calculator for your own use. A figure it produces is not an official scale ticket and is not a valuation, a grade or a contract. Where money changes hands, the scale of record is the one agreed between buyer and seller.

9. Children’s privacy

The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

This policy may change. Any change will be posted on this page with a new date.
