1. Overview

Tone Generator: Sound & Sweep ("the App") is a free Android app that generates audio test signals — sine, square, triangle and sawtooth tones from 1 Hz to 22 kHz, frequency sweeps, and white, pink and brown noise — for testing speakers and headphones and for sound masking. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the App.

2. Information We Collect

The App does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to our servers. It has no user accounts and no sign-up. Google services may process advertising and app-usage data as described in Section 3. Your last-used frequency, waveform, channel, volume and preset are saved only on your device and are not sent to us.

3. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following Google services:

• Google AdMob — for displaying advertisements. The App shows a banner, an app-open ad on launch, and occasional full-screen ads at natural break points (such as opening the preset library, switching modes, or when a sweep finishes) — never during active audio playback. Full-screen ads are suppressed on the installation day, limited to two per format per local day, and separated by at least three minutes across formats. Where required, Google's consent form is shown before any ad request. You can revisit your choices from About whenever privacy options are required. AdMob may process device identifiers (such as Advertising ID) and usage data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads. For more information, see the Google Privacy Policy.
• Google Firebase Analytics — for aggregate app usage and reliability measurement. It may process app interactions, device information and identifiers. We do not send tone frequencies, volume settings, preset values, contact details or audio recordings as custom analytics data. See the Firebase Privacy and Security documentation.

4. Permissions

The App requests internet access for ads and analytics. It does not use or request access to your microphone, location, contacts, camera, photos, files, or notifications. The App only plays audio through your device output; it does not record any audio.

5. Data Storage

The App does not create user accounts and does not sync any data to the cloud. All your settings stay on your device. Uninstalling the App removes your local data and any cached AdMob data stored on the device. Android backup is left enabled for this App, so a copy of that data may also exist in your Google account. Uninstalling does not delete that copy, and installing the App again can restore it. You can review or delete it in the backup settings of your Google account.

6. Safe Listening

The App can produce loud and high-frequency sounds. Please keep the volume low, especially when using headphones, to protect your hearing. The App is a general-purpose audio tool and is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose or treat any condition.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is suitable for general audiences and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
